What if my store does not double?

Just because your store does not double coupons, it does not mean you cannot cut your grocery budget and start saving with coupons. Plan your meals around your coupons and sales ads. If you look at the store match-ups I have listed, you will notice that a lot of the  items on sale this week has a coupon from the 9/11/2011 inserts. Normally whatever coupons are in the Sunday paper, those items will either be on sale that week or the following week. The same goes with the printable coupons I list. If I post a coupon to print, chances are there will be a deal that week or the following week.

Wait for the items to go on sale and then use your coupon to purchase the item. Remember, just because you have a coupon for something, it doesn't mean you should run out and buy it. That is one of the biggest problems when you start couponing and you start to overspend. I have been there and done that. When I first started couponing, I was running to Target once a week but then I started to overspend because I would see items that were on clearance and thought they were a great deal. I was also spending more on gas. Set aside one day to do all of your couponing.

One thing I would like to stress is that the TLC show called Extreme Couponing is a reality show. The stores on that show make extreme exceptions and bend the rules. There is no store in my state that would EVER allow me to use 100 coupons. They are not telling you how much they are spending to actually pay for these coupon inserts and they are not really 'sent from God' as one of them said.

There are some that say they just don't have time. If you are sitting on the couch watching TV, cut coupons while your watching. Get your kids involved and let them help you sort them. My oldest daughter is in college now and before she leaves to go anywhere she always asks if I have coupons for any of the items she needs. I hope that my blog has helped some of you save some money. I know I am just a small blog, nothing like those bigger ones. I do all the match-ups myself, I can't afford to pay anyone to do them for me lol.
